Pull the bottom link down until it gives, right on the wall. A link that belongs to a later day waits for its day; pull it early and the chain tells you when it's ready.

Right after a tear, tap Tape it back over the scraps. The link goes back on the chain, with a little tape to show for it. The offer lasts a few seconds.

Tap the chain's name under it, then Share. Paper Chain makes a short video of your chain tearing a link, with its name and count, to send or save.

• Home Screen: press and hold an empty spot, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Paper Chain.
• Lock Screen: press and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose the Lock Screen, and tap the widget area.

To pick which chain a widget shows (or, for the big Room widget, which room), press and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget.

A chain counting down to a date reminds you once, on the day a link is ready, and never nags about links you haven't torn. To change the time or turn them off, tap the chain's name, then Edit. Not getting them? Check Settings → Notifications → Paper Chain.

Tap the chain's name under it, then Edit. You can rename it, change its length or date, its paper and color pattern, or delete it.

Each room holds two chains. Tap the arrows by the dots at the bottom (or swipe along the names) to move between rooms; the page after your last room starts a new one. Tap a room's name at the top to rename it or change how it looks. Rooms are free, as many as you like.

To swap the two chains in a room, press and hold one, slide it along the shelf, and let go.

The one thing for sale in Paper Chain: a single purchase that unlocks every paper and every room's look, including every new one we add later. It's shared with your family through Family Sharing. Everything else in the app is free.

Tap any locked paper, then Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. For refunds or billing questions, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, since Apple handles every purchase.

Your chains live only on your phone; there's no account or sync. If you set up your new iPhone from a backup of the old one, they come along. Deleting the app deletes them.

Nothing leaves your phone except a few anonymous counts, like how many chains get made. No names, no dates, nothing you type. The privacy policy lists every one.
